Description
Red House is a mid-18th century house that was restored in the late 20th century. It features coursed rubble faced in brick and has a slate roof. The building is L-shaped, with wings extending to the west and north, and the main stack is located at the angle between these wings.
The south front has two storeys above a cellar and includes two windows, which are 3-light casements with segmental heads and stone sills. The ground floor casements are taller than those above. The entrance is marked by a segmental metal canopy supported on trellised sides, and the upper two panels of the six-panel door are glazed. This entrance is accessed by three brick steps. To the left, there is a louvred cellar window set in the plinth. Inside, some ceiling beams are exposed.
