Description

No. 15 Bridge Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and flats, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick with a turnerized slate roof and features brick end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a cellar. The façade is a two-window range with 6/6 sash windows that have stone sills and are set under gauged brick flat arches. There is a storey band and above, 3/3 sash windows, with brick modillion eaves.

To the right, there is a 20th-century door set in a panelled case with a cast-iron overlight, topped by a plain hood supported by fluted pilasters. A 20th-century shop window is located to the right of the door, and there is a stone plinth at the base.

Inside, the building features a 19th-century stick baluster staircase leading to the second floor. The first floor includes a square-headed arch with an architrave, a cornice with a rose, a cast-iron fireplace with a marble surround, and 6-panel doors with architraves, along with a margin-glazed overlight. The ground floor has a ceiling cornice, a strong-room door with an architrave, a tiled floor, and more 6-panel doors with architraves. The cellar has a flag floor, is stone-lined, contains bins, and features stone winder steps leading to a 2-panel door.
