  • II

Lodge. 1870s. Grey-green rock-faced coursed rubble, quoins and dressings in red sandstone ashlar, steep hipped slate roofs. Asymmetrical plan, picturesque Gothic estate lodge. Two storeys, roll mouldings to eaves. Essentially two bays, the right hand to drive, displaced by turret with clasping projection to north-west. Principal feature to road is bartizan at north-east corner and that to drive a circular turret with conical roof. Windows under pointed arches, one and 2-light casements in chamfered reveals. Entry to left of turret. Wooden wicket fence with quatrefoil cut-outs on top of red sandstone coping to dwarf garden-wall which is taken up as piers at intervals. Wrought iron gates and gate piers survive in damaged condition to north-east (not included).
