Description

LANGAR CUM BARNSTONE MAIN ROAD SK73NW (south side), Barnstone 2/122 Roadside Farmhouse and attached barn to left - II Farmhouse and attached farm building and barn to left. Late C18. Brick. The house has a plain-tile roof with coped gables on square kneelers. End stack to left and one ridge stack, both with a cornice. Two-tier eaves cornice of square-set and diagonally-set brickwork. First-floor brick band. The farm building and barn have pantile roofs, and the barn has a dentil eaves cornice. Two storeys. Four- bay house range with entrance in bay 2 with C20 door and overlight in a trellis porch. A single tripartite casement window to left and two to right. Similar windows to 1st floor except the window above the door which is of two lights. All have segmental heads. To the right is a lower single-bay addition with a single 2-light casement. To the left the farm building roof sweeps low over an outshot. The barn has a full-height square-headed cart-entry and diamond patterns of honeycomb ventilation brickwork. To rear, right of the house, are lower additions. Interior: not inspected.
