Description
This is a late 18th-century farmhouse with an adjoining farmbuilding, the latter now used for storage. The buildings are constructed of brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with the upper storey of the farmbuilding built of engineering brick. They have renewed pantiled roofs and brick chimney stacks.
The farmhouse is two storeys high and has three bays. The central doorway has been replaced and sits beneath a flat brick arch, now behind a 20th-century gabled wooden porch. The windows are horizontal-sliding sashes; a 24-pane window is on the left of the door, and a replaced 12-pane window is on the right. There is a blocked window above the door, with a 18-pane window to the left and a replaced 12-pane window to the right. The farmhouse has cogged eaves. The farmbuilding is also two storeys high and has three bays, featuring a central elliptical-arched opening. Late 20th-century casements are set into partly-blocked openings with elliptical heads, with two replaced casements above. It has a steeply-pitched roof with rendered verges, and a corbelled-out brick kneeler on the left side. A chimney stack with top bands is at the left end, and an identical stack is above the junction with the farmhouse. The farmbuilding is included in the listing due to its group value. A late 20th-century addition to the rear of the farmbuilding is not considered to be of special architectural or historic interest.
