Description

Vine House is a 17th-century brick house located on Back Street in South Clifton. It features a steeply pitched interlocking tile roof and a tarred plinth, with brick bands at the first floor and eaves. The north gable displays tumbling, and there are two gable stacks. The south gable has three bricks inscribed with 'Jonathan Baines Builder'. The house is two storeys high with an L-shaped plan and has four windows. The entrance is an off-centre 20th-century doorcase, with a blocked doorway to the south and a two-light Yorkshire sash window beyond it. To the north, there is a two-light casement window, followed by another two-light Yorkshire sash, both of which have segmental heads. Above these, there are four 19th-century Yorkshire sash windows with timber lintels.
