Description
Blacksmith Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of timber framing and brick, featuring brick nogging and rendering, with a steep pitched hipped and gabled pantile roof. The building has a brick plinth and two ridge stacks. It stands two storeys tall and has three main bays plus a single bay. The main west front features an off-centre door flanked by single Yorkshire sash windows, with a single casement window beyond. Above, there are two Yorkshire sashes and a single casement window. To the left, there is a single-storey, single-bay extension made of brick with a pantile roof, rebated eaves, and a coped gable with kneelers. The north gable has a central door. At the rear, there is a continuous outshut with a door to the right, flanked on the left by two Yorkshire sashes and on the right by a 20th-century casement window.
