Description
This mid-18th century house, located at 6 Main Street, is constructed of brick and features gabled and catslide steep pitched pantile roofs. The building has a first floor and eaves band, plain eaves, and brick coped gables with kneelers. It is two storeys high with garrets and consists of four bays.
The main south front includes a 19th-century single-storey lean-to addition on the left, which is also brick with a pantile roof. To the right, there is a 19th-century door with an altered segmental head, flanked by two windows with similar heads. Further to the left, there is a blocked doorway, another window, and a blocked casement. The west gable features two plank doors and a blocked window, with a casement above. The east gable has two casements above.
On the rear elevation, there is a two-storey stair turret with a hipped pantile roof on the left, and to its left, a 20th-century flat-roofed addition. Additionally, there is a 19th-century single-storey L-plan outbuilding to the east, which has rebated eaves and a 20th-century pantile roof. The building exhibits a mix of 19th and 20th-century fenestration.
