Description
Benet is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the late 18th century and incorporates a 17th-century timber-framed building in the rear wing. The property was altered in the mid-19th century and early 20th century. The front is made of brick, which has been colourwashed, with a rendered ground floor and a slate roof. The rear wing is timber-framed, clad in colourwashed brick, and has a pantile roof.
The front features a first-floor band and dentilled eaves, with an external rear wall stack. The front windows are plain sashes, and the building has three storeys with a two-window range. There are two larger sashes with segmental heads on the front, along with two smaller sashes above. A late 20th-century replica wooden shopfront is located to the left, with a door. The single-storey rear wing has 20th-century glazing, and the rear gable displays a pair of principal rafters with double purlins.
