Description

West's the Jewellers is a house that has been converted into a shop, dating from the late 18th century and altered around 1880. The building is finished in stucco and has a slate roof, with a stone plinth. It stands three storeys high, plus garrets, and features a two-window range. The front facing King Street includes two plain sash windows on the ground floor, and above them is a central Yorkshire sash window. To the right, there is a late 19th-century wooden shopfront with pilasters and a corniced fascia. A recessed 20th-century door is located to the left, with a single window to the right. The left gable, which faces Queen Street, has two plain sash windows with segmental heads, and above them, to the left, there is a single sash window in the gable. To the left, there is a shopfront similar to the one on King Street, featuring a deeply recessed door and a small window. To the right, there is a 19th-century shop window with a cornice and 20th-century glazing.
