Description

This garden urn, dating from the mid-18th century, is located 100 meters northeast of Rufford Abbey. It was likely removed from the parapet of the Abbey. The urn is made of ashlar stone and sits on a rendered brick plinth. It features a chamfered square plinth that supports the urn, which has a stepped square base and a ringed octagonal stem. The body of the urn is vase-shaped and octagonal, topped with four scallops that form a crest. The urn is flanked by single mermaid supporters.
