Description
This is an 18th and 19th century farmhouse with adjoining farm buildings. The farmhouse is brick built with pantile and plain tile roofs, including plain tile verges. There are dentillated eaves, three coped gables with kneelers, three ridge stacks and two gable stacks. The building is six bays wide and six bays deep, arranged in an L-shape. The east front has a panelled doorcase with an overlight and hood, flanked to the left by two windows and to the right by a single glazing bar sash. To the left of the door are two blocked openings, and further to the left a casement window. Above, to the left are two casements, and to their right, a blocked opening, beyond which are three unequally spaced glazing bar sashes. The north end, to the rear, has a 20th century glazed porch and door. The south end has a door with a segmental head. The rear elevation has two blocked openings to the left, a small light and a door with a segmental head to the right. The adjoining farm buildings, to the south, have five 20th century casements and two stable doors, one with a segmental head. Above, to the left are two slatted openings, and to their right, a plank door. To the right of this are a Yorkshire sash flanked by single casements.
Inside the farmhouse, there are chamfered span beams and joists, a winder stair with a square newel, and a principal rafter roof with tenoned purlins, renewed at the south end. Original features include single 18th century fielded panel and plank doors.
