Description
No. 3 Main Street is an 18th-century cottage constructed of brick with a pantile roof. It features cogged eaves, a single coped gable with kneelers, and a single gable stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout with a single bay plus two bays on the main front.
The north front includes a 19th-century addition on the left, which has a single bay with a casement window flanked by single doors, all featuring segmental heads. The main part of the north front has a central 20th-century timber and asbestos cement porch on a brick plinth, with a half-glazed door flanked by two 20th-century casements. Above the porch, there are two more 20th-century casements. The rear elevation shows a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows, including a door to the left and two casements to the right, with a small light and two casements above.
The east end has a single-storey 19th-century addition on the left, featuring a pair of doors with a timber lintel and a plank door above to the right. Inside, there are two 18th-century fielded panelled doors and a chamfered hewn span beam with stops. The adjoining 19th-century cottages are not included in this listing.
