Description
High Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse constructed of brick with a pantile roof. It features a first-floor band, cogged eaves, two coped gables with kneelers, and three gable stacks. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, forming an L-plan. The front windows are Yorkshire sashes. The south front includes a central 19th-century gabled porch with a latticed design, which contains a panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single sash windows. All these openings have segmental heads, and above them are two small sashes.
At the rear, there is a 19th-century addition in the included angle, which has a small barred light. The rear wing features a door with a segmental head on the left side and a 20th-century casement window. Above this, there is another 20th-century casement and a small fixed light. Inside, the farmhouse has a chamfered span beam and joists, along with two fireplace bressummers. There is a 19th-century dogleg staircase with a landing. Outside, there is an adjoining brick boundary wall with gabled brick coping, approximately 15 meters long. The nearby 19th-century farm buildings are not of special interest.
