Description
No. 87 High Street is a pair of cottages dating from 1656, which have been altered in the 20th century and are now combined into one property. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble and brick, with timber framing and a rendered finish. It features a 20th-century pantile roof and a single ridge stack. The structure is 1½ storeys high and consists of two bays.
Both facades are similar, with the southern facade showcasing a 19th-century moulded architrave that frames a panelled door, accompanied by a single shop window to the south. The northern facade has a 19th-century half-glazed door, with a 19th-century three-light leaded casement window to the south. Above both facades, there is a central 20th-century gabled dormer that contains a three-light leaded casement window. The north gable features two 20th-century fixed lights, with a single two-light casement window above.
