Description
White Hart Cottage is a house that was formerly an inn, built in 1664 and altered in the late 19th century. The structure is made of coursed blue lias rubble and brick, with some areas partially rendered. It features stucco eaves and lintels, a brick eaves band on the south gable, and a steeply pitched pantile roof with brick coped gables. The cottage has two gable stacks, one of which is external on the south side.
The building is L-shaped, with two storeys and three windows on the front. The central window is a 19th-century margin light sash, flanked by two 19th-century half-glazed doors, and further flanked by two more 19th-century margin light sashes. On the upper floor, there are three 19th-century margin light sashes. The south front has a mix of 19th and 20th-century windows. Inside, there is an oak span beam inscribed with '1664 RB CB'.
