Description

This is a gateway and gates located 8 metres northeast of the Church of St Mary of the Purification, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The structure is made of ashlar and iron. The central feature is a mid-19th century wrought iron double gate, which is decorated with open tracery. On either side of the gate, there are single pilasters that stand 2 metres high, each topped with a moulded ashlar entablature and a shallow pediment. This gateway is included in the listing for its group value.
