Description

Blidworth Dale is a house built in the mid-18th century, with an extension added in 1835 and later 19th-century modifications. The front of the house, dating from 1835, is made of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with two decorative red brick ridge stacks and modillion eaves. The building is set on a painted plinth and has two storeys with three bays.

At the center, there is a late 19th-century red brick and painted porch, which has a parapet topped with decorative iron railings. The entrance is flanked by single pilasters, and the side walls have oval fixed lights. The inner doorway consists of a four-fielded panel door with a decorative overlight and is also flanked by single pilasters. On either side of the porch are round-arched tripartite glazing bar casements, each featuring a keyblock. Above the porch, there is a central doorway with glazed double doors and an overlight, with single glazing bar sashes on either side, all having moulded surrounds. An inscription reading "T.P. 1835" is located above the first-floor opening.

To the rear left, there is a three-storey, three-bay 18th-century wing. The ground floor is rendered, while the first and second floors are tile hung. This wing also has a hipped slate roof with a single stack to the left. The garden front features a central canted bay with a parapet and first-floor band. The central doorway has glazed double doors and a fanlight, with single glazing bar sashes on either side and additional similar sashes further left and right. Above, there are five slightly smaller similar sashes. This building was previously listed in the 39th List, dated 13 May 1986, in the parish of Blidworth, in the District of Newark.
