Description
This is a late 18th-century farmhouse, extended in the 19th century and again in 1871. The exterior is rendered over red brick, with ashlar dressings and an ashlar wing added in 1871. The roof is slate, with brick stacks to the left and rear right. The right-hand side of the building has six bays, characterised by ashlar dentil eaves and ashlar coped gables with kneelers. A rendered plinth is present on the right six bays while an ashlar plinth is on the left single bay. A first-floor band runs along the right five bays. The farmhouse is two storeys high plus a garret, with a total of seven bays. The second bay from the left is a 19th-century addition, and the single-bay wing on the left was built in 1871 with a gabled, projecting design. The main entrance has a part-glazed and panelled door with a decorative overlight. Flanking the door are two glazing bar sashes, with a further sash in the 19th-century bay. An open ashlar porch with round archways to both the front and side features, containing an inner part-glazed door and fanlight with ashlar surround. The 1871 wing has a two-storey canted bay with three sashes, and the date '1871' is displayed above the doorway. The rear of the building includes two-storey wings. On the main facade, above the doorway to the right is a round-arched recessed panel containing a single glazing bar sash. To the right of the recessed panel are two similar sashes, and to the left are three.
