Description

Colton's Farmhouse, built in the late 18th century, is a brick structure topped with a pantile roof. It features terra-cotta coped gables and dentillated eaves, with three gable stacks and stone cills. The farmhouse is two storeys plus garrets and has an L-plan layout. The central entrance has a moulded doorcase with a geometrical overlight and scrolled brackets supporting the hood, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. Above the entrance, there are three similar sash windows, all with rubbed brick heads. The east gable includes two 20th-century glazing bar ventilators at the peak. The mid-19th century boundary wall is also made of brick, featuring terra-cotta and brick coping, four piers with stone caps, and a decorative cast iron gate. The east end of the wall has brick and stone steps leading to a mounting block.
