Description

Kelham House is a late 18th-century brick house with stone dressings and a hipped slate roof. It has three storeys and a three-window front. The eaves feature half-round dentils, and there are two roof stacks, rebuilt in the late 20th century. The windows are glazing bar sashes with rubbed brick heads. The front has a central, smaller window flanked on either side by a tripartite sash. The upper floors have similar window arrangements, with smaller windows above the tripartite sashes. A central, moulded wooden doorcase has a dentilled cornice, and it frames a six-panel door with the top two panels glazed, accompanied by a geometrical fanlight. Tripartite sashes are located on either side of the door. A gabled wash house with a pantile roof is attached to the right side of the house.
