Description

23A Westgate is an early 19th-century house located in Southwell. It is constructed of stucco with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a plinth, deep eaves supported by wooden modillions, and a single side wall stack. The windows are glazing bar sashes.

The south front of the house has two tall sashes with elliptical balconies that have wrought iron railings. There is a 20th-century panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single sashes. The left end, which faces Westgate, has a segment-headed blank on each floor. At the rear, there are three windows, with blanks in the centre and left, and a sash on the right. The centre and right windows also have balconies similar to those at the front. There is an off-centre half-glazed door flanked by single sashes, with the left one being smaller.
