Description

The Halifax Building Society is a house that has been converted into a building society office. It dates from the late 18th century, with a mid-19th century addition and changes to its windows. The structure is made of brick and features a plain tile roof, with a rendered plinth and two external side wall stacks. It stands three storeys high and has a single window range. The gable end facing the street has a central projecting pediment flanked by half-pediments. Each floor has a segment-headed plain sash window, with the second-floor window being smaller. The building also features a restored mid-19th century corniced wooden shopfront with a glazing bar window. To the left, there is a set-back addition that includes a 20th-century glazed door and overlight.
