Description

This is a house dating from around 1700, which was altered in the early 19th century, and further modified around 1870. The construction is brick, with stone dressings and a plain tile roof; the front has been colourwashed. The architectural features include a plinth, a band at sill level, dentilled eaves to the front and cogged eaves to the rear, a parapet, coped gables, and three gable stacks, with the main ones positioned externally. The house is two storeys high, with a dummy attic, and originally had a four-window front. The front features plain sash windows with segmental heads, and four smaller dummy windows above. A central, square, flat-roofed porch is flanked by single, canted bay windows with plain sashes and iron crests. To either side are late 19th-century single-storey additions; the one on the left has a hipped slate roof, a segment-headed door with an overlight, and a plain sash window. The left gable has a 20th-century casement window to the garret.
