Description
Alishaan Restaurant is a former public house located at 83-85 Appleton Gate in Newark on Trent. It dates from the late 18th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the 19th and mid-20th centuries. The building is constructed of brick, which is rendered and painted, and features a slate roof with a single ridge stack. It has a plinth, a first-floor band, and cogged eaves.
The structure is two storeys tall with attics and has a range of six windows on the upper floor, which are twelve-pane sashes. The fifth window from the left has been replaced by a name board. Above, to the right, there is a box dormer and a sloping dormer, each containing a two-light casement. On the ground floor, there are three plain sashes, with a single C20 door and overlight on either side. To the left, there are two small casements, and to the right, there is a canted single-storey addition with a cross casement.
