Description
The Old Wine Vaults is a public house located on Church Street in Eastwood. It dates from the late 18th century and the 19th century. The building is constructed of brick and features plain tile and slate roofs with hipped and catslide designs. The eaves are rebated, and there are three gable and single ridge stacks, as well as side wall stacks. The structure stands three storeys high and has three bays.
The windows are primarily plain sashes and 20th-century French windows, all featuring keystoned splayed lintels. The south front showcases a central panelled door with an overlight, a moulded doorcase, shaped brackets, and a pedimented hood. This door is flanked by single French windows. To the right, there is a 19th-century addition that is a single storey with two French windows. Above this addition, there are three sashes, and above them, three smaller sashes.
On the west end of the building, there is a late 20th-century flat-roofed addition to the left, which includes two casements. To the right of this addition, there are two more casements, and above, to the left, there is a sash window.
