Description
67 and 69 West Gate are two houses dating from around 1800, currently functioning as a café and a vacant shop. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared stone and brick, with No. 69 featuring a painted front, stone dressings, and a slate roof. They have two gable and one central brick chimney stacks and rise to three storeys. The façade includes a four-window range of 12-pane sash windows. On the second floor, there are two late 20th-century casements on the left and two 9-pane sashes on the right, with all windows having projecting surrounds. The ground floor features a mid-20th-century shop front on the left with a fascia under a canopy, and a late 20th-century shop front on the right with a roller shutter. The buildings have undergone mid and late 20th-century alterations.
