Description

Moorhaigh Farmhouse and the adjoining garden wall date from the mid 18th century and early 19th century, with later additions and alterations from the mid 19th century and 20th century. The building features late 20th century roughcast with stone dressings and a late 20th century pantile roof, which includes two coped party walls and two gable and a single ridge brick stack. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with a single bay addition to the left. The windows are late 20th century top hung glazing bar casements. The main block has three casements and a central gabled porch made of coursed rubble, which has a renewed stone lintel and a late 19th century half-glazed inner door with etched glass panels. There is a casement window on either side of the porch. The set-back addition to the left has a single casement on each floor. The rear wing features a two-light window with stone flush mullions in the return angle, and below it, a similar window is flanked on the left by a board door with a stone surround. All windows have late 20th century glazing. The adjoining garden wall is made of coursed rubble with chamfered coping and includes two round-topped stone gate piers.
