Description

The War Memorial, built around 1918, is a cenotaph made of ashlar stone in regular coursed blocks. It has a rectangular shape with a stepped plinth and a moulded base. Above the base is a plain rectangular block that steps in at the top. One long side features an inscription that reads, "ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF THE GALLANT MEN OF PLEASLEY AND PLEASLEY HILL WHO FOUGHT IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918," along with an additional inscription honoring those who died in the Second World War. A carved wreath is positioned above the inscriptions.
