Description

A gas lamp, dating from 1871, is located 10 meters west of the East Lodge at Bestwood Pumping Station. It is made of cast iron and features a broached square base, a tapered octagonal stem, foliate ornamentation, and a glass globe. The finial is missing. This lamp is part of a pumping station that was one of three built in the late 19th century to serve Nottingham City. It is included in the listing for its group value context.
