Description

This gas lamp, located 15 meters north of the boiler house at Bestwood Pumping Station, was constructed in 1871. It is made of cast iron and features a broached square base with a tapered octagonal stem adorned with foliate ornamentation. The globe and finial are missing. This lamp is part of a pumping station that was one of three built in the late 19th century to serve Nottingham City. It is included in the listing for its group value.
