Description
The garden walls and gateway at Bestwood Lodge Hotel were built in 1862 by S. S. Teulon for the 10th Duke of St. Albans. They are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and feature double cogged eaves, ashlar corbels, and gabled moulded brick coping. The structure is single storey and has a square plan, measuring approximately 80 meters on each side. The south wall is pierced and has brick ornamentation, along with a pointed rebated central gateway that is topped with an elaborate crow stepped gable and finial. The gateway is adorned with wrought iron gates and is flanked by a pair of piers that have square finials. This building is a detached part of the outbuildings of Bestwood Lodge.
