ELKESLEY JOCKEY LANE (north side) Milestone, 40 metres north west of Jockey House

Milestone, and probably former gate pier. Dated 176? Ashlar. Rectangular stone one and three-quarter metres high with shallow pyramidal shaped coping. Front inscribed "Coach Road to Worksop Manor House 7 miles 3 qrs 176?". The left/west side inscribed "From London 142 miles and a half". The right side inscribed "The keys at the Jockey House".
