Description
Bramcote School, originally known as Gamston House, is a mid-18th century rectory that has been converted into a school, with an early 19th-century addition. The building is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. It has a single left gable, a ridge, and external red brick stacks on the right. The eaves are adorned with dentils, and the structure is set on a brick plinth. The building consists of two storeys plus a garret and has six bays, with the right single bay being a slightly projecting and gabled 19th-century addition. There is a first-floor band and six low glazing bar casements, with six glazing bar sashes above. In the gable apex, there is a single small casement. All openings have flush wedge lintels. Notably, the third bay from the right was originally a doorway. To the left, extending for two metres, is a 19th-century brick coped wall. The rear of the property features extensive 20th-century additions, which are not included in the listing.
