Description

Laretto Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage with 19th-century alterations. It is built of painted brick and features a thatched roof with decorative eaves and raised brick coped gables. The cottage has one axial and one gable rendered brick stack. Originally designed as a two-unit baffle entry plan, it has an additional bay on the right side. The building is a single storey with attics and has a four-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre four-panelled door, with a single glazing bar sash window to the left and two similar windows to the right. There are two dormers in the thatch, each with two-light sliding glazing bar sashes. Inside, the cottage retains chamfered softwood girders.
