Description

Swinhope House is a small country house built in 1785. It is constructed of stock brick and features slate hipped roofs with two tall brick stacks at the hipped ends and decorated eaves. The house is two storeys high with an attic and has a five-bay east front. The central three bays project and are topped by a pediment that includes brick dentil decoration and a traceried oculus. The façade has five long glazing bar sash windows, with five smaller ones above, all featuring splayed, painted ashlar lintels. There is a doorway at the rear, and a 20th-century greenhouse is located on the north side. The interior is noted as being of no importance.
