Description

The K6 telephone kiosk, designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is a notable example of 20th-century design. Made of cast iron and painted red overall, this kiosk features a standardized design with long horizontal glazing in the door and sides. The crowns on the top panels are applied rather than perforated. It has rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE" beneath the shallow curved roof. In Binbrook, this kiosk has had some glazing replaced with plastic, and the red paint is flaking in some areas. The internal equipment is modern.
