Description
This pair of cottages, originally built as one house, dates back to 1832. They are constructed of red brick with painted stucco dressings and feature both slate and pantile roofs. The building has two gable stacks and one ridge stack. The front is three stories high with four bays, and there is a two-story, two-bay service block set back to the left.
The entrance is off-center, featuring a six-panelled door within a wooden pilastered surround that has a plain cornice and a narrow hood. To the left of the door is a glazing bar sash window, while to the right are two paired glazing bar French windows. On the first floor, there are three glazing bar sash windows, with a painted dummy sash above the door. The second floor mirrors this pattern but has smaller windows at the eaves. All other windows have splayed stucco lintels.
The service range includes a plain planked door with a sliding glazing bar sash window to the left, both topped with segmental brick heads. On the first floor of the service block, there is a single similar window at the eaves. At the rear of the main block, on the left side at first floor level, there is a brick inscribed "WT 1832".
