Description

The Stonehouse is a small country house dating to the early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. Constructed of brick, it has a hipped tile roof and stacks at the rear. The house is three storeys high, featuring a brick coped parapet and a band between each storey. The front facade has a two-bay, three-bay, two-bay window arrangement. It contains boxed glazing bar sash windows with rubbed brick heads; the second floor windows have nine panes, the ground floor windows have fifteen panes. A central entrance is framed by a stone architrave, now sheltered by a 19th-century porch. The interior includes a front room with panelling and a ceiling decorated in a 17th-century style. A central, open-well staircase features turned balusters.
