Description
The building is an infant school and parish hall, originally a house, dating from the early 17th century. It was remodeled in the early 18th century and early 19th century. The structure is timber-framed, mostly covered in painted brick, and features a machine tile roof with an H-plan layout. It has one storey in the cross-wings, each of which contains a 19th-century Gothick window with three lights and bargeboards at the gable. The central range has a dentilled brick cornice and three windows: two three-light casements flanking a single-light casement. The central entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed porch, while the entrances to the cross-wings on the internal return fronts have canopies supported by trellises. The framing is visible at the rear; the right-hand wing has close-studding on the first floor, and the rear of the left-hand range features four square panels high.
