Description

STONE CP STONE HILL (north side) SO 87 SE 10/114 Infant school and parish hall (formerly listed as Stone School House, Vestry and Parish Room) 25.2.58 GV II

House, now school and parish hall. Early C17, remodelled early C18 and early C19. Timber-frame, mostly clad in painted brick with machine tile roof. H- plan. One storey to cross-wings, each with a C19 Gothick window of three lights with bargeboards to gable; central range of storeys: dentilled brick cornice. Three windows: two 3-light casements flank a single-light casement. Central entrance has a C20 half-glazed porch; entrances to cross-wings on internal return fronts have canopies supported on trellises. Framing: visible to rear; right-hand wing has close-studding to first floor; rear of left-hand range four square panels high.
