Description

The Blakeways is a house dating from the early 17th century, with some late 17th-century additions. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a tiled roof, designed in an H-plan. The left-hand cross-wing is from the late 17th century, while the rest of the building is from the early 17th century. The house has two storeys and a window arrangement of one plus two plus one, primarily consisting of 3-light casements. The entrance is located at the right-hand end of the main range, featuring a 6-panel door. The framing includes a jettied tie-beam on the right, with the right-hand end and main range having three square panels high with straight tension braces over close-studding, while the left-hand range has four square panels high.
