Description
Rose Cottage is a house dating from the early 17th century, with some extensions from the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and a tiled roof. The structure consists of three framed bays aligned northwest to southeast, with gable-end stacks at the south and an axial stack located between the two northern bays. The house has two storeys and five windows, which are mostly 20th-century casements. The ground floor has six windows, all 20th-century casements except for one on the right, which is a 20th-century bow window beneath a tiled pentice roof. The entrance is now located on the left-hand return front. The framing includes four square panels high with straight tension braces. Inside, there is graffiti on a rail that includes "WT 1618," which appears to be part of the main fabric of the building.
