Description

Manor Farm House is a farmhouse built in 1843. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with dark headers and features painted ashlar dressings and slate roofs. The house has three ridge stacks, with the main stack located centrally on the front roof, square in shape and divided by two vertical pointed slots. The building is T-shaped, two storeys high, and has three bays with a garret on the side. It has a chamfered brick plinth and bargeboarded gables with overhanging eaves and exposed rafter ends.

On the ground floor, there are three three-light timber plain sash windows. The first floor features a central glazing bar casement flanked by two single two-light sashes. All windows have deep chamfered ashlar surrounds. The entrance front consists of five bays with a two-storey garret and attics. The off-centre muntin door is accompanied on the right by a three-light plain sash. On the left, in a recessed service wing, there is a two-light plain casement, a plain door, and another two-light glazing bar casement. Above the main door on the first floor is a two-light plain sash, with two two-light casements to the left. In the garret to the right, there is a two-light plain sash, and in the attic of the service range, there are two plain fixed lights in a dormer with wood panelled sides and a gabled slate roof. The surrounds of the right-hand range are fully of ashlar and chamfered, while the lintels and sills of the service range are made of ashlar.

Inside, the house features a veined white marble fireplace and a hardwood bannister on the staircase with plain square balusters. The building is listed for its group value only.
