Description

Atterby Mill is a water mill built in 1802. It is constructed of red brick, featuring some purple headers, and has a pantile roof with one gable stack. The mill has three storeys and an irregular two-bay front with dentillated eaves. On the ground floor, there is a planked door on the left and a two-light window with a segmental head on the right. An iron wheel is positioned above this window. The first floor has a central opening with a segmental head, while the second floor contains two blocked windows. The date of construction is indicated by iron ties at the right-hand end of the building. Inside, the mill retains its original floors and iron gear wheels with applewood cogs.
