Description

This building consists of two cottages, constructed around 1850, with 20th-century alterations. They are made of yellow brick with ashlar dressings and feature slate roofs with raised stone coped gables and kneelers, along with three brick ridge stacks. The structure is a single range with an advanced central bay and single-storey porches on either end of the side elevations.

The front has three bays and is two storeys high, with the central bay being gabled and advanced. This bay is decorated with a brick gable, stone kneelers, and raised stone coped gables. On the ground floor, there is a three-light casement window, with a door to the left covered by a 20th-century planked wooden porch that contains a glazed door, followed by another three-light casement. To the right is a single three-light casement. All ground floor windows have chamfered reveals and moulded brick hood moulds with horizontal label stops.

On the first floor, there are three small Yorkshire glazing bar sashes with chamfered brick reveals and ashlar lintels. The outer pair of windows are topped with gablets that have stone kneelers and stepped brick heads with decorative finials. Flanking the building are single-storey porches with raised coped gables that are also surmounted by finials. These cottages were built by the Brocklesby Estate.
