Description
Nos 72 to 78 on Church Street are an early 18th century range of houses. Number 74 has two modern shop fronts added. The buildings are three storeys high, constructed of red brick with a pantile roof and a slight central projection. They feature a window arrangement of 4:1:5, with hung sashes that have flush frames and brick voussoirs; only two windows still have glazing bars. A moulded brick cornice runs along the top, with a central pediment and an elliptical carriage arch on the ground floor. The first floor has a scolloped window arch and brick surround, along with Roman Doric pilasters on brackets that support entablatures and a cornice. The central window arches on the second floor are also scolloped but are blocked. The parapet is topped with stone coping. The Parish Church of All Saints is part of a group with Nos 62 to 90 on Church Street.
