Description

Northlands House is a house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with some red brick and features slate roofs with gable stacks. The building is two storeys high with a garret and has a three-bay front from the 18th century, which includes three glazing bar sash windows with painted, splayed plaster lintels. A single quoin next to the central window suggests the original location of a doorway. Above, there are two additional glazing bar sashes. To the right, there is an early 19th-century range that is two storeys high and has two bays, featuring two sliding sashes with segmental heads and two similar windows above. At the rear, there is an 18th-century range with a large red brick staggered projecting stack. A 20th-century doorway has been inserted in the north wall of the 18th-century rear range. The roof interiors from the 18th century remain intact.
