Description
Nos 1 to 4 Hall Cottages, originally a stable block at Glentworth Hall, date from around 1752 and were altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features hipped slate roofs, which include two ridge stacks and two hip stacks. It has a two-storey central range with nine bays, flanked by three-storey end blocks that have pyramidal roofs.
The structure has a plinth and ashlar bands at the first and second floors, which are modillioned on the end blocks. The central three bays project slightly and are topped with an open ashlar-dressed pediment that contains a blind rectangular opening. The central bay features a two-storey, blind, giant order arch with a plain doorway leading to a through passage, along with a blind rectangular opening above.
To the left of the doorway, there are five 20th-century casements, with four to the right and paired 20th-century casements in the end block. Each window has a blind rectangular opening above it. There are ten 20th-century casements above, with paired 20th-century casements in the end block to the right.
