Description
Brick House and Burleys is a shop with an attached house, now divided into two houses, dating from around 1820. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with a stack on the left hip at the rear, a single gable stack, and a single ridge stack.
The left side contains a two-storey shop with a curved south corner that includes a doorway with a moulded doorcase, a rectangular overlight, and a six-panel door. This doorway is flanked by glazing bar sashes with splayed plaster lintels, and there is a similar window further west on the north side. Above the doorway, there is a large three-light window featuring a central casement with glazing bars, flanked by fixed lights. On the north side, there is also a single glazing bar sash with a splayed plaster lintel.
To the right on the north side, there is a two-storey, three-bay house with a central doorway that has a moulded wooden doorcase, a small raised wooden keystone, a fanlight, and a six-panel door. This doorway is flanked by glazing bar sashes, with two similar windows above, all featuring splayed plaster lintels. The interior includes two blocked doorways that connect the house with the former shop.
