Description
Cherry Tree Cottage is an estate cottage that has been converted into a house. It is dated 1812 and underwent alterations around 1820 to 1840, with a 20th-century addition at the rear. The building is constructed of painted brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate roof. It has a central ridge stack with three large round brick flues, which have heavily moulded ashlar bases and caps. The cottage has a brick plinth and wooden eaves, standing two storeys high. The front has a two-window range of 2-light casements with ashlar surrounds, shutters, and leaded glazing. On the right side, there is a 20th-century window set within a 19th-century ashlar surround. The entrance is located at the rear. This building is one of those constructed or modified between 1790 and 1820 by George de Ligne Gregory and later altered by Gregory Gregory, who were successive Lords of the Manor of Harlaxton.
